June Dorothy Knuth

June Knuth passed away peacefully June 17, 2015; she was 92 years young.

She was born and lived in New Jersey.  She and her husband moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, along with both their daughters in 1969.  After over 20 years in Fort Lauderdale, they moved further North to a retirement community in Stuart, Florida.  They enjoyed their lives in the St. Lucie Falls community, surrounded by many friends and participating in all the activities.

When June was in Fort Lauderdale, she did free-lance modeling, was on a bowling league, and stayed busy being a loving Mom, a wonderful and active Grandmother, and a good friend and neighbor.  She and her husband, Ernie, traveled around the country in their motor home, enjoying the sights and visiting with good friends.

After Ernie passed away in 2007, June stayed in their home in St. Lucie Falls, staying active with all her good friends and neighbors in the community.  Just a few months ago, June moved to Franklin, NC, to be closer to her daughter, Donna.  She moved into the Franklin House and quickly made dear friends there with both the residents and the caring staff.

June was always a happy, fun, very social lady.  She made the most out of her life, living it to the fullest, and enjoying dancing, playing the organ, bowling, socializing, and all the family gatherings.  She leaves us all with cherished and great memories.  She will be missed by many, but will remain in our hearts forever.

June was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest, and her brother, Robert Volk.  She is survived by her two daughters, Donna Hughes and husband, Ken, of Franklin, NC, and Debra O’Brien and husband, Joseph, of Lincoln, CA; her granddaughter, Dara Grosso, and husband, Nick, and a great-granddaughter, Alexis Grosso, in Asheville, NC, along with a grandson, Brian Hughes, and wife, Julie, of Coral Springs, FL, as well as a sister, Betty Hayes, of Coral Springs, FL.
