Karen Floy (Mccall) Carnes

Ms. Karen McCall Carnes, 70, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, May 30, 2024. She was born June 9, 1953 in Macon County, NC to the late George Heman McCall and Floy Jean Southards McCall.

She retired as a customer service supervisor for Verizon and was a member of the Franklin Church of God. Karen was a loving mother, grandmother and sister.  She loved going to the beach, new cars, and piano music, especially southern gospel music.

She is survived by her son, Robert Tyron "Ty" Carnes (Lilly) of Waynesville, NC; grandchildren, Isabella Carnes and Emilia Carnes; sisters, Dorothy "Dot" Jean Siler (Fred) of Greenville, SC and Mildred Ann Giles (Bruce) of Franklin, NC: and brother-in-law, Skip Sanders of Franklin, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Kimberly Dawne Carnes, two sisters, Margaret May Sanders and Cora Mae McMurray and three brothers, Ken McCall, Bill McCall and Dallas McCall.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, June 2, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Moore-Welch Cemetery, with Rev. Jason Smith and Rev. Phillip Cochran officiating.  Pallbearers will be Randy McCall, Mike Hopkins, Alex Hopkins, Skipper Sanders, Chuck Brooks and Dustin Queen.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Moore-Welch Cemetery Fund.
