Franklin, NC - Katherine Matilda Kilmon Corti, 100, left us Friday, December 2, 2011. Born in Royal Oak, Maryland to Walton and Emma Kilmon, in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years Leo, daughter Helen Stutts, grandsons Michael and Randy Corti and great granddaughter Amanda Raby. She is survived by her son Leo Corti of Ft. Pierce, FL and daughter Marcella Massung of Franklin, eleven grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren and twenty-four great great grandchildren. In early years she worked for Campbells Soup, a yarn factory in New Jersey then Crandon Drug in Miami, Florida. She ran a service station with her husband until retiring to Franklin forty years ago. She enjoyed yard sales and was ready to go every Saturday morning. Her life revolved around her family from the very beginning, and through the years she was the familys loving matriarch mom-mom.
Weve selected this picture of her at three because she was lovingly referred to as the devilish child in her youth. Her wonderful stubborn nature and the love of her family and friends were the keys to her longevity.
Arrangements are being made by Bryant-Grant Funeral Home, no services will be held.
