Kathy Evitt

Kathleen Evitt, 83, of Sylva, NC, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 4, 2019.  She was born in New Mexico, the daughter of the late Mack Bascom Evitt and Delphia Denzel Quilliams Evitt.  She was a nurse (RN) and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Sylva, NC.  She was a strong Republican; liked to eat out; enjoyed talking with friends; loved to sing and play guitar; and loved her dog Bravo.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Evitt and a brother, Leland C. Evitt.

She is survived by two sisters, Shirley Houston (Clinton) and Colene Ledbetter all of Highlands, NC; and a number of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 8, 2019 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant‑Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Jeffrey Houston officiating. Burial will be in Evitt Cemetery.   Pallbearers will be Clinton Houston, Craig Montgomery, Ryan Turner, John Swann, Thad Evitt and Taylor Gregory.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
