Kenneth L. Limle of Otto, NC passed quietly from this earth on Wednesday, July 8th at Angel Medical Center, Franklin at the age of 78.
Kenny is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara E. Limle; daughter, Deby (Steve) Dahlquist, Seymour, IN; grandchildren Brad Dahlquist, Jeff Dahlquist and Mandy Dahlquist and great‑grandchildren, Jacob and MaKinlee Dahlquist.
He is also survived by sisters, Joyce Smith, Cleveland, GA and Caroline Yaudas, Muncie, IN; brother, Clyde (Genny) Limle, Muncie, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Born in Muncie, IN on May 27, 1937, Kenny graduated from Royerton High School, Muncie, in1956. He served 4 years in the United States Navy as a radioman.
He retired from Westinghouse/ABB Transformer Plant in Muncie after 35 years of service. While working full time, he also earned a bachelor’s degree in heating and air conditioning from Ivy Tech, Muncie, IN.
Upon his retirement from Westinghouse, he and wife Barbara relocated to North Carolina. Kenny like to stay active and help others. He worked part‑time as a sexton at the First Presbyterian Church, Franklin where he served for 8 and 1/2 years.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #0108, Franklin, NC. He was a life member of the Weekend Gold Miners Prospecting Club, Inc., Dahlonega, GA since 2001.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 6:00 pm at Bryant‑Grant Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Tom Fisher officiating. Another Clebration of Life Service will be held in Muncie, IN at a date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations to the American Cancer Society of Franklin, NC.
