Kimberly Dawne Carnes

Kimberly Dawne Carnes, 43, of Franklin went home to be with the Lord on March 11, 2017. Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Karen McCall Carnes of Franklin and Robert Carnes of Dillsboro.

Kimberly was a loving daughter, sister, cousin and friend. She worked as an administrative assistant at Cowee Baptist Church and was a member of Franklin Church of God. In addition, she enjoyed participating in activities and fellowship with friends at Cartoogechaye Church of God and Cowee Baptist Church.

She loved her dog, Penny "Pen-Pen" and loved photography, music and going on road trips. She loved to travel and enjoyed a great trip to Europe which she loved to share with those close to her. She loved the beach and equally loved the snow.

In addition to her parents, survivors include her brother, Ty Carnes and wife Lilly of Waynesville; a half-sister, Paula Robinson of Sylva and a half-brother, Jeff Carnes of Indian Trail, NC.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Cowee Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Smith, Rev. Phillip Cochran and Rev. David Powell officiating. Burial will follow at the Moore - Welch Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12 - 2:00 pm, prior to the service, at Cowee Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bryant-Grant Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Franklin, NC  28734 or directly to the family.
