Franklin - Mrs. Laura Etta Passmore Adams, 88, of Franklin NC, who passed away Friday May 17, 2013 in the loving care of her daughter and son-in-law Nell and Rick Jenkins. Mrs. Adams was born in Jackson County NC June 29, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Passmore and Lilly Lorena Haskett Passmore. She was married August 27, 1939 to the late Roy Adams who died in 1998. She was preceded in death by five infant children, Lilliemae, Donald, Mary Etta, Martha & Adam Russell Adams, a son Roger Dale Caldwell, grandson Shane Caldwell and a sister Estie Passmore Harris.
She is survived by a brother, Jerdy Passmore and wife Violet of Lenoir, NC, a sister Ethel Carver, one daughter, Evanell Adams Jenkins and husband Rick all of Franklin, one son, Roy Gene Caldwell of Lenoir NC; four grandsons, Michael Dale Caldwell and wife Candy, Bruce Lee Caldwell, Richard Laws and wife, Anthony Schrader; two granddaughters,Shelia Etta Caldwell and friend Jack Phillips, Lisa Marie Metcalf; three great-grandsons, Ricky Anthony Caldwell, Jaydon Roy Anthony Phillips and Caleb Metcalf; one great-grandaughter Tasha Johnson; four great-great grandchildren; one uncle Mitchell Haskett and wife Ruby of Lenoir, NC and many nieces and nephews.
She was a Jehovahs Witness by faith. Her hope was of living in a Paradise earth where there will be no sickness and death. She was a loving mother and a great friend, she loved every one. She would feed all that came to her house. She love to crochet and made many towels which she loved giving to all that came to see her. She had a love for goats and dogs. She loved to garden. She was employed for many years at the shirt factory in Clayton Georgia and at the Ranger station until she retired. She was loved very much and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 P.M. Sunday May 19, 2013 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witness 564 Prentiss Bridge Road in Franklin. Officiating will be Brother Michel Wall. Prayer will be given by Jerry Schott Sr.
Visitation for Mrs. Adams will be 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Sunday May 19, 2013 at the Bryant-Grant Funeral Home.
