Laura Russell Taylor

Franklin, NC - Laura Russell Taylor, age 91, of Franklin, NC passed away Friday, July 27, 2012. She was born in Macon County, the daughter of the late Herman and Rhoda McCall Russell. She was married to Ralph Taylor who passed away in 2000. She was a restaurant cook and was a member of Ellijay Missionary Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved watching birds and feeding wildlife.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Welch of Dillard, GA; her son, Bruce Hopkins and his companion Gail Crisp; grandchildren, Chris Welch, Anthony Sesso III, Crystal Stebbins, Lisa Belugazima and Debbie Lambert; special friends, Carolyn Ayers, Grace Houston and Gail Crisp and beloved puppies, Tinker and Babie. Seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Mike Hopkins, sister, Pearl Webb and brothers, James, John, Howard and Gilmer Russell.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 4 at 2:00PM at Ellijay Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Morris Tippett officiating. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 2:00PM, one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made to Bryant Grant Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Franklin, NC 28734
