Franklin, NC - Lelia Viola Ammons Adams, age 92, of Franklin, NC, passed away January 23, 2015. She was born in Macon County, the daughter of the late James and Laura Gregory Ammons. She was married to the late John Parker Adams. She was a member of Ellijay Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and had worked at Van Raalte and Franklin Undergarment. She then worked in the Christmas Tree Business until her retirement. She liked working outside, gardening, watching birds, and thoroughly enjoyed going to Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Wanda Adams Henry and her husband Riley of Franklin, NC; a son, John Parker Adams, Jr. of Franklin, NC; two sisters, Myrtle Frisbee of Sedro Wooley, WA and Cora Holland of Franklin, NC; a brother, Fred Ammons of Marietta, SC; two grandchildren, Rita Henry and Tina Adams,and one great-grandchild, Cassie Henry.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Minne Hollifield, Rhoda Price, Mamie Stiles, Bertha Robinson and Clydia Ammons; three brothers, Harrison Ammons, Parker Ammons and James Henry Ammons; granddaughter, Rachel Henry and daughter-in-law, Glenda Adams.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 25th at 3:00 pm at Ellijay Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Bud Haire and Rev. Neal Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dale Young, Carl Mincey, Moreland Bowman, Jack Henry, Gerald Woods, Randy Rogers, and Wesley Peek.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 till 3:00pm, one hour prior to the service at the Church. Memorials may be made to Ellijay Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Wanda Bollick, 80 Woodrows Lane, Franklin, NC 28734.
