Leroy "Spud" McCall

Mr. Leroy "Spud" McCall, 72, of Highlands, NC, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2026. He was born February 20, 1954, in Macon Co., NC to the late Cletis McCall and Betty Jean Norris.

"Spud" was an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting, fishing, and all his adventures with his special friend, Donna Rogers, with whom he treasured 17 years of friendship. A member of Highlands Assembly of God, he attended and enjoyed church thoroughly. Mr. McCall loved the Lord and his family.

In addition to his parents, Mr. McCall was preceded in death by his sister, Roberta McCall; his brother, Doyle Wayne McCall; and a grandson, Michael Henderson.

He is survived by his daughter, Kimber McCall; his son, Chris MCall; his sisters, Linda Webb and Mary Ellen Cooper (Gary); a brother, Daniel "Jabo" McCall; a grandson, Triston Alexander; a granddaughter, Amanda Jade Littleton; several nieces and nephews; as well as great-nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 noon, Monday, June 15, 2026, at Highlands Assembly of God with Rev. Randy Reed officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM - 12:00 noon prior to the service. Burial will take place at the Miller Cemetery following the service. Jack McCall, Lester Norris, Tom Holt, Jamie Holt, Jerry "Frog" McCall, and Mack Chastain will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Owens and Kenny Talley.
