Leroy Oren Peek

Leroy Oren Peek, 80, of Franklin, NC passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2016.  A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Bulen and Nellie Hedden Peek. He worked in highway construction for Asheville Contracting Company. He loved gardening and was a member of Wells Grove Baptist Church.

Mr. Peek is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Shuler Peek; one daughter, Sharon Peek Crisp; three sisters, Christine Parrish, Doris Jean Peek and Maxine Shepherd and one brother, Harold Peek. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Doug, Sterling, Morley and Grendal Peek.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, January 24, 2016 at 2:30 pm in the Chapel of Bryant‑Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Vic Greene officiating.  Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Donnie Holden, Gary Peek, Tony Peek, Jeffery Parrish, Nathan Walker and Jerry Shuler.  Molly Stamey and Jesse Holden will serve at honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 ‑ 2:30 pm, prior to the service, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Angel Home Health and Hospice, 170 Church Street, Franklin, NC  28734.
