Lester Neville Norton

Franklin, NC and Odenville, AL - Lester Neville Norton, age 86, of Odenville, AL, formerly of Franklin, died Saturday, February 23, 2013. Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Virgil Lester and Mary Parker Norton. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during World War II in the Pacific Theatre aboard USS Taconic.

He was a retired salesman for Martha White Company; was a song writer and loved music. He was a very faithful Christian and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Margaret, AL.

Mr. Norton is survived by one daughter, Teri Feaser and husband Cory of Flippin, AR; three grandchildren, Ashley Jones, Trevor Trout and Kaelan Davis and two great grandchildren, Kelsey Jones and Charlotte Chapman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Paschal, Parker and John Norton.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Dryman officiating. Burial will be in Newman Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Masonic graveside rites will be performed by Junaluska Masonic Lodge #145. Franklin VFW Post #7339 and American Legion Post #108 will perform military graveside rites.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 - 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
