Lillian Freda Tippett

Franklin, NC - Lillian Freda Tippett, 73, of Franklin, NC passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Born in Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Hazel Elizabeth McClure Monteith. She was employed by Sky City and loved mowing and gardening. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was a member of Cowee Baptist Church where she was active in Sunday school and GA's.

Mrs. Tippett is survived by her husband of 55 years, Thomas Roy Tippett; a daughter, Angela Tippett of Franklin; two sons, Thomas "Tommy" Tippett and wife Kathy and David Walter Tippett and wife Kimi all of Franklin; a sister, Mib Moore of Franklin and a brother, Erskine Monteith of Franklin, eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Hyde.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 7:00 pm at Cowee Baptist Church with Rev. David Powell, Rev. Jason Smith and Rev. Ronnie Branson officiating. Mrs. Tippett's Sunday school class will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends, Thursday evening from 5:30 7:00 pm, prior to the service, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cowee Baptist Church Building Fund, 6301 Bryson City Rd., Franklin, NC 28734.
