Linda Ruth Hedden

Linda Ruth Hedden, 80, of Highlands, NC, passed away Monday, March 23, 2026. Linda was born July 21, 1945, in Seneca, SC, to the late Wilbur Ransom Hedden and Opal Allsep Hedden.

Ms. Hedden was a creative person, who loved nature. A free spirit, Linda loved traveling, referring to herself as a "Gypsy", having seen all fifty states two times. She also loved interior design, photography competition, and rock collecting. Linda worked seasonally for many years with the National Park Service. She loved people, especially her friends and staff at Chestnut Hill. Linda made friends everywhere she went.

Survivors include her sister, Mary Dotson (John "Buz"); brothers, Ralph G. Hedden (Jewell) and Oscar E. "Gene" Hedden (Barbara) and C. W. "Bud" Hedden (Patricia); and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas Hedden, Lawrence Hedden, James Hedden and a sister, Lois Hedden Rains.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, March 27, 2026, at Double Springs Methodist Church in Mountain Rest, SC.
