Lois (Hedden) Rains

Mrs. Lois Hedden Rains, 76, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2023. Mrs. Rains was born October 2, 1947, in Clemson, SC, to the late Wilbur and Opal Allsep Hedden. Lois worked in medical research, was a reporter, working for several newspapers and she held a Real Estate Broker's license. She loved gardening, humming birds, photography, and traveling. Lois was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

Survivors include her husband, John Rains; three children, Kevin Rains, Victoria Rains Jenkins (Stephen Jenkins), and Cameron Rains; three grandchildren, Elisha Rains Wallace, Galeb Rains Wallace, and Allison Jenkins; three brothers, Gene Hedden (Barbara), Ralph Hedden (Jewel), and Bud Hedden (Pat); and two sisters, Linda Hedden and Mary Dotson (John).

In addition to her parents Lois was preceded in death by three brothers, Tom Hedden, Jimmy Hedden, Lawrence Hedden.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Monday, December 11, 2023, at the Double Springs Methodist Church with the Rev. Roy Lowe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends following the service.
