Lois Roper

Franklin, NC - Lois Roper, 85, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015 in an Asheville hospital. Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Nannie Wilkes Bryant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Judson Roper who died in 1992. She was a loving mother and grandmother and was a member of Mt. Sinai Assembly of God.

Mrs. Roper is survived by a daughter, Barbara Ann Arvey and husband Bill of Franklin; a son, Howard Boyd Roper and wife Mary of Franklin; two sisters, Virginia McClure and Emogene Swafford both of Franklin; four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Lola Roper, Geneva Rowland, Ola Rowland and a brother, Ezell Bryant.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 26, 2015 at 3:00 pm at Mt. Sinai Assembly of God with Rev. John Raby, Rev. Barry Bowman and Rev. Lewis Swafford officiating. Burial will be in Tippett Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 8:00 pm at Bryant Grant Funeral Home where the body will remain until being placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
