Louis Norman Guertin

Mr. Louis Norman Guertin, 78, passed away August 3, 2025, in Highlands, NC.

Louis was born August 22, 1946, in Pascoag, Rhode Island to the late Archie Guertin and Norma Boulanger.

Louis was a mountain man he enjoyed being in the outdoors and taught us so many survival skills. He built our house growing up from the land. He had so much wisdom that he passed down to his children.

Louis was a Vietnam veteran, a strong veteran with so much pride for America. His children looked up to their father for everything he stood for.

He enlisted in the Air Force in 1971. He was in the Air Force for 8 years and 9 months; Honorable Discharge. He was an Aircraft Maintenance/Technician.

This is from his DD214 form - 43152-Airlift/Bombardment, Aircraft Maintenance Specialist. His Decorations: AF Good Conduct Medal with One Oak Leaf Cluster (6/18/71-6/17/77) and National Defense Service Medal.

Louis was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include his sister, Rose Hrycuna and her husband, Charlie; a brother, Eddie Guertin and his wife Bonita;

He has four children from his first marriage: Ray Kearns, Gary Guertin, Billy Guertin, Louis Guertin (AKA Junior)

He has two children from his second marriage: Troy Guertin and Serena Breda

He has three grandchildren and one great grandson from his second marriage: Sarah Svay and her husband and their son, Zylus, which is his great grandson. Granddaughter Sasha Guertin and Emma Guertin.

He has five grandchildren from his first marriage and five great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Louis was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Guertin.
