Lucille (Hannah) Cocke

Lucille H Cocke, 85, joined her loved ones in Heaven on March 2, 2016.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Cocke, parents Fred and Mary Hannah, siblings Walter Hannah, Maxine Hannah, and Gladys (Ernie) Wright, and nephew Walter Wright.  She is survived by two children, Chuck (April) Cocke, Hannah (Mike) Sullivan, three grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loved ones.  Lucille earned her degree in Physical Therapy from Women’s College, now known as the University of North Carolina Greensboro and the Medical College of Virginia, now known as Virginia Commonwealth.  She worked with Veterans in hospitals in Oklahoma City and Oteen and journeyed across Macon County with Angel Home Health.  She loved to travel and was always ready to go.  As a longtime supporter of the American Cancer Society and being a breast cancer survivor, she was the founder of the Macon County Cancer Support Group and counseled many women, young and old, on the path through treatment to survivorship.   Public visitation will be Sunday, March 6th from 5 until 7 at Bryant‑Grant Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Patton United Methodist Church 4668 Old Murphy Road, Franklin, NC  28734.
