Lydia Perry Smith Bryson

Highlands, NC - Lydia Perry Smith Bryson, age 77, of Highlands, NC, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at Highlands-Cashiers Hospital. She was a native of Jackson County, the daughter of the late Cecil and Edna Bumgarner Smith. She was married to the late Don D. Bryson. She was a homemaker and a member of Cashiers Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Gay Bryson Stewart and husband Wilford "Bucky" of Tuckasegee, NC; a son, Greg Bryson and wife Kelley of Highlands, NC; sisters, Melena Fowler of Glenville, NC and Mary Norris of Cashiers, NC; brother, Robert Smith of Franklin, NC; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Smith.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 8, 2009 at 1:00pm at Upper Zachary Cemetery, with Rev. Johnny Norris officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be to Highlands-Cashiers Hospice, PO Box 190, Highlands, NC 28741.
