Maggie Crane Bell

Maggie Crane Bell, 93, of Franklin went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at sunrise on Thursday, September 8, 2016.

Maggie was born in Highlands, NC. She attended the Baptist church. She married Robert Bell, and together they built a home in Otto where they lived for many years raising two boys. Maggie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great Nana BB. She loved her family and went the extra mile to look after them. Maggie worked for years at Dr. Joseph Khan's office in Franklin and was often referred to as "Doc" by friends and family in the community because of her ability to mend and be a caregiver. Maggie also worked at the Shirt Factory and Belden Factory for many years.

Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, Edmond and Olive "Ollie" Crane and her husband of 66 years, Robert "Bob" Bell, who died in 2008. She also lost her son Joseph "Joe" Bell in 2003. Also preceding her in death were five brothers, Raleigh, Fred, Floyd, James and Thad Crane, and three sisters, Edna Corn, Hazel Keener and Etta Ellis.

Maggie is survived by a son, Bobby Bell and wife Pat of Franklin; a sister, Ethel Penland of Franklin; a grandson, Rob Bell and wife Kim of Otto; a granddaughter, Brooke Bell Waldroop and husband Christopher of Otto, and three great‑grandsons, Maddox, Maveric Doc, and Mace Waldroop. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Bryant‑Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Dryman and Rev. Phillip Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery with Ronnie Gentry, Robert Shook, Charles Southard, Mike Bell, Brian Bell and Jerry Anderson serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 ‑ 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
