Mamie Emma Lou Mathis Biddix

Sylva, NC - Mamie Emma Lou Mathis Biddix, 66, of Sylva passed away Monday, February 9, 2015. Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late William Anderson Mathis and Rebecca Magdalene Frizzell Mathis. She was married to David Lewis Biddix, who passed away in 1998. She was a member of Wayside Baptist Church, where she served as the activity and event coordinator, she was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She liked to sew and loved her God, she had worked as a seamstress for Buster Brown manufacturer of children's clothing.

She is survived by three daughters, Rebecca Morrison and husband Peter of Sylva, NC, Roberta Harcourt and husband Daniel of Boston, Massachusetts and Elizabeth Young and husband Michael of Waynesville, NC; two sisters, Hassie Nichols of Otto, NC, and Nolita Angel of Franklin, NC; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 15th at 11:00 am at Wayside Baptist Church in Sylva, with Pastor Lee Hill officiating.
