Margaret "Bea" (Ashe) Keener

Margaret Beatrice Ashe Keener, 96, of Franklin, NC, passed away December 9, 2024. She was born June 27, 1928, in Macon County to the late James Thad Ashe and Ella Katherine Young Ashe.

Mrs. Keener was married to Willard Earl Keener who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and loved gardening and canning.  She was a member of Wells Grove Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher for many years.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two sons, Phillip Keener and Tracey Keener, a sister, Mavis Jennings, and three brothers, Thad Ashe, Samuel Ashe and Dewey Ashe.

Mrs. Keener is survived by her daughters-in-law, Linda Keener and Karen Keener; grandsons, Jeff Keener, Darren Keener (Jennifer) and Brandon Keener (Monica); a granddaughter, Patti Keener Miyano; great-grandchildren, Danielle Keener, Zane Keener, Layla Keener, Mazie Keener, Nolie Keener, Zeb Keener, Jaxon Keener and Madison Keener; a great-great-grandson, Oliver Wilson; and a niece, Anne Jennings Plath (Tom).
