Margaret Louise Murphy Hysell

Franklin, NC - Margaret Louise Murphy Hysell, 93, of Franklin, North Carolina passed away Friday, July 4, 2014. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Patrick and Rose Murphy, February 15, 1921. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, Homer Hysell, and her older brother, William Murphy. A very loving mother, grandmother and friend,

Mrs. Hysell is survived by her son, Walter Hysell and daughter in law, June Hysell of Denton, North Carolina, grandchildren, Carol Elam and husband Jeremiah, Thomas Hysell, Raymond Hysell and Amy Garcia and husband Greg..

In addition to homekeeping, she worked as a bookkeeper during WWII. Margaret and Homer were married in 1946, in Muskegon, Michigan then moved to Miami, Florida later that year. They lived there until they moved to Otto, North Carolina in 1986. She enjoyed traveling, tennis, camping, hiking, boating, skiing, and was an avid reader and music enthusiast.

A funeral mass will be held Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with Father Tien Duong officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 9:00 pm at Bryant Grant Funeral Home.
