Margie Evans

Margie Stanfield Evans, 95, passed away, Saturday, July 2, 2016. Mrs. Evans was born September 29, 1920 in Macon County to the late Buck and Hattie Guffey Stanfield. Margie was a homemaker and loved gardening and flowers. She enjoyed crocheting and making Afghans.  In addition she was an avid reader and loved keeping up with her community.

Survivors include her daughters, Luanne Low and Judy Houston (David) of Franklin, NC; one son, Ronnie Evans (Jean) of Franklin, NC; four grandchildren, Shelley Pritchett of New Bern, NC, Rob Huscusson of Franklin, NC, Heather Belcher (Joe) of Franklin, NC, Josh Houston (Jessica) of Flat Rock, NC; and 3 great-grandchildren, Hannah Houston Covington (Deven) of Austin, TX, and Lola and Sloan Houston of Flat Rock, NC; and a sister, Ruth Stanfield Holland of Greenville, S.C.

She was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Evans and a sister, Lillie Stanfield Hastings.

A funeral service will be held 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2016 in the chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with the Reverend Steve Reeves officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Sugar Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bud Stanfield, Bill Stanfield, Josh Houston, Joe Belcher, Tony Taylor, and Travis Taylor.
