Toccoa, GA - Marie M. Hood, age 78, of Sycamore Drive, Toccoa, GA went to be with the Lord Friday, May 23 at Stephens County Hospital, Toccoa, GA.. She was born in KoKomo, IN, the daughter of the late William Seawright and Ethel Mae Booher Bowen. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Herbert M. Hood; four daughters, Ethel and her husband, Grant Snyder, Jan Payne, Cathy and her husband, Ron Swanson, and Sharon and her husband, Randy Anderson all of Franklin, NC; one son, Richard Hood and his wife, Mirna of Guatamala, CA; three sisters, Martha Miller of High Hill, MO, Betty Lauer of Franklin, NC and Virginia West of Albany, GA; four brothers, George Bowen of St. Ann Missouri, Walter Bowen of Heber Springs, AK, Frank Bowen of Hannibal, MIssouri, Joe Bowen of Jefferson City, Missouri. Sixteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and three great-great- grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Hood and six brothers, Bill, Bob, Fred, Raymond, Donald and Guy Bowen.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 29 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with Rev. John Raby officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 28 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home.
