Mark Richard Cress

Franklin, NC - Mark Richard Cress, 58, of Franklin, NC passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014. Born in Quincy, IL he was the son of Richard Cress of Port Orange, FL and the late Barbara Muegge Cress. He was an engineer for Allscripts Computer Software. He was a loving husband and father who loved reading, writing, working with computers and working with the Boy Scouts. He was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church in Raleigh and attended St. Agnes Episcopal Church in Franklin.

In addition to his father, Mr. Cress is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lynn Young Cress; step daughter, Jacqueline Rhew and husband, Alan of Cullowhee; son, John Patrick Cress of Camp Geiger, Jacksonville, NC; two sisters, Diane Sauls and Melissa West both of Raleigh, NC and brother, Brian Cress of Port Orange, FL.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Agnes Episcopal Church with Rev. Dorrie Pratt officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Agnes Episcopal Church Roof Fund, 84 Church Street, Franklin, NC 28734.
