Martha L. Vinson Rogers

Martha L. Vinson Rogers, 90, went home to be with her Lord on the morning of March 24, 2026. She was born on September 26, 1935, to Harley and Bessie McCall Vinson in Scaly Mountain, North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Noah Lee Rogers, whom she so longed to be reunited with in Heaven; her parents; Two sisters, Cleo Jones and Freda Brabson; a brother, Leonard Vinson; two infant siblings; and a grandson, David Rogers.

She is survived by her son, Gary Lee Rogers (Lou); Granddaughter Christina Joiner (Brent); Grandson, Joel Rogers (Cheryl); Great Granddaughter, Eden Rogers; Five brothers, Sheridan Vinson, Clinton Vinson, Denver Vinson, Louis Vinson and Dallas Vinson (Jenny); and many, many nieces and nephews.

Martha was affectionately known by her family (and so many others, in her later years) as “MeMe”. She was a devoted Christian and a light to all she met. She was a charter member of the Tessentee Church of God and taught a children’s Sunday School class there for 44+ years. At the time of her passing, she was a faithful member of the Franklin Church of God, as much as her health would allow. Her greatest joys on earth were her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchild.

She lived her later years at Grandview Manor Assisted Living, where she was loved by so many of the staff. They took such great care of her, giving her the opportunity to retain great quality of life.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Franklin Church of God with Rev. Joel Rogers, Rev. Eugene Moore, Rev. Ricky Brewer and Rev. Michael Stephens officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service (10am) at the church. Pallbearers will be Mark Vinson, Dwight Vinson, Dexter Vinson, Gerald Vinson, Kevin Vinson, and Wayne Vinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Jones, Sherrill Dalton, and Vernon Vinson.
