Mary Leola (Dills) Talley

Mary Leola Talley, 83, of Franklin, NC, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023.  She was born July 31, 1939 in Macon County to the late Fred and Bertie Holland Dills.  Mrs. Talley worked in nursing and was a CNA.  She volunteered at the Highlands Emergency Council and was on the Board of Directors.  She loved working in her garden and loved all her family and friends.  She was a member of Buck Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Barnes of Highlands, NC; son, Jeff Talley of Franklin, NC; grandchildren, Nicole Barnes, Jamie Barnes and Amanda Keith; great-grandchildren, Sophie Keith, Emmerson Keith, Sawyer Barns and Colton Mathis; and a brother, Ronnie Dills.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands, Gene Munger, Howard Talley, and Freeman Rice; a sister, Martha Wilson and two brothers, Wade Dills and Willis Dills.

A graveside service will be held Friday, February 3, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Buck Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Oliver Rice officiating.  Pallbearers will be Jamie Barnes, Joshua Mathis, Brad Keith, Chris Peek, Jason Jackson and Lonnie Barnes.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:15 at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home.
