Mary Elizabeth (Henry) Cabe

Mary Elizabeth Henry Cabe, 104, of 1995 East Cornelius Harnett Boulevard, Lillington, NC 27546, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 10th, at Universal Health Care.

She was born July 12, 1915, in Franklin, N.C. and was the daughter of the late  Noah Love Henry and Hulda Talley Henry.  Mrs. Cabe attended North Carolina Public Schools in the area.  She was married July 4, 1934, to the late Mell J. Cabe who passed away June 22, 1978.

Mrs. Cabe was a homemaker and she and her husband always had a big garden and provided fresh vegetables for all the children and many neighbors.  She also helped reputable families with child care and housekeeping needs.  She was known for her great food dishes and hand  sewn quilts and  showed her love through these talents and caretaking of family members.  In 1988, she moved from Franklin, NC  to the Fuquay Varina area beside her son, Wade N. Cabe and his wife  the late Doris Cabe who provided any help and transportation she needed until 2011 when declining health required the  move to Universal Health Care in Lillington, NC.

Mrs. Cabe is survived by her son J. Wilbur Cabe and wife, Anna of Statesville, NC, and son Wade N. Cabe of Fuquay Varina, NC ; 3 grandchildren, Jacob W. Cabe, Jr. of Ft. Worth, Texas, Michael Shane Cabe of Fuquay Varina, NC, Rebecca Cabe Butler (Linc) of Mebane, NC, 10 great grandchildren Jacob Logan Butler of Greensboro, NC, Caroline Jolie Cabe and Riley Cabe, Ft Worth, Texas, Connor D. Butler, Emma Butler and Sydney Butler of Mebane, NC, Zach Cabe (Chesley) of Buies Creek, NC., Josh Cabe of Lillington, NC,  Rachel Cabe and Michela Cabe of Raleigh, NC.  In addition to her husband, Mrs. Cabe was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Ethel Henry Norton, Eva Henry Angel, Elsie Henry Ballew, and 4 brothers, George, Nick, Ted and Ed Henry.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 PM on Thursday January 16th at Drymans Chapel UMC with the Rev David DeWitt , Pastor and Rev Melinda Ivey, Pastor of Kipling UMC, officiating.Visitation will be from 12:30 PM-1:30 PM prior to the funeral service at the church.

Interment will follow in Drymans Chapel graveyard.  Active pallbearers will be Bob Henry, Junior Cabe, Joe Ballew, Tommy Keener, Greg Moore and Bill Harkins.
