Mary Ella Henry Fitzsimmons, 68, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, August 23, 2024. Mary Ella was born in Verdun, France September 10, 1955, to the late Jackie Thomas Henry and Mireille Pricot Henry Douglas who survives.
She was a member of Prentiss Church of God and a member of Daughters of the Confederacy. She was an avid family historian and "The best Granny ever". She worked at James River Paper Company in Richmond, VA and at Federal Reserve Bank in Richmond, VA., she was also a published author of children's books.
Survivors include her husband, David Fitzsimmons; a daughter, Bethany Fey Fitzsimmons Hyer (Andrew); a son, David Charles Fitzsimmons, Jr. (Jennifer); grandchildren, Ella Ray Hyer, Blair Dent, Ayden Suggs, and Emily Suggs; mother, Mireille Pricot Henry Douglas; and sibling's, Jackie Thomas Henry, Jr. (Tina), Michelle Henry Elliott (Paul), Ted Henry, and Joe Douglas (Shannon).
A Celebration of Life service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, September 1, 2024, at Ellijay Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Don Moffitt officiating. Pallbearers will be Tommy Henry, Ted Henry, David Fitzsimmons, Jr., Andrew Hyer, Joe Douglas and Paul Elliott. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery. Family and friends will line up for a procession at 2:30 PM at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home and will go to cemetery.
