Mary Alice (Oberlies) Planck

Mary Alice Planck, age 86, of Franklin, NC, passed away, Tuesday, March 7, 2017.  She was born in Anderson, Indiana, the daughter of the late William Carl and Isabelle W. Hellert Oberlies.  She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great‑grandmother. Mrs. Planck was an avid reader and she loved solving puzzles and creating handmade Christmas cards. She was a member of First Christian Church of Franklin.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Kenneth H. Planck; one daughter, Paula Jean Ellis (Dan) of Maitland, FL; two sons, Gary Lynn Planck (Dixie) of Easley, SC and Kent Harris Planck of Hendersonville, NC; nine grandchildren and 15 great‑grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Lee Planck.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11:00 am at Woodlawn Cemetery with Rev. Matthew Kolodzik officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:30 ‑ 8:00 pm at Bryant‑Grant Funeral Home and Crematory.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
