Mary Ann Ray Hedden

Franklin, NC - Mary Ann Ray Hedden, 78, of Franklin, NC passed away Monday, May 12, 2014. Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Onie Vanhook Ray. She worked at Angel Medical Center and later at Western Sizzling Steak House for several years. She was a loving wife; loved children and her family and liked doing word search puzzles and playing bingo. She was a member of Walnut Creek Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hedden is survived by her husband of 47 years, Wiley Hedden and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Ashe who died in 1984 and three brothers, Rufus Ray, Wilbur Ray and Don Ray.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Alton Dendy and Rev. Carson Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Strain Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Tabor, Travis Hedden, Marshall Hedden, James Hedden, David Hedden, Sammy Hedden and Bobby Hunt.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 8:00 pm at Bryant Grant Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Strain Cemetery, c/o Sharon Hunt, 4386 Walnut Creek Road, Franklin, NC 28734.
