On March 8th 2026, Max Duane Cruse, at 95 years of age, passed to his heavenly home. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 years, Edith Angel Cruse. His deceased family include parents, Fred and Jewel Cruse, brothers Jack, Floyd and Walker Cruse and sisters Ruth Medlin and Joanne Kameh. He is survived by sisters Shirley Cole of Marietta GA and Doris Hunter of Franklin NC.
Duane was a member of the Mashburn Branch Baptist Church. He was a lover of nature and spent many hours watching the wildlife around his home. The Mashburn Branch Community knew Duane well for his dedication of mowing the grass. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War. Part of his military duties were in Miami FL, fueling fighter planes. He loved God, his country and his family.
In Duane’s last years, he was deeply loved and had dedicated care by his wife’s sisters, Gladys Jennings and Joyce Bryant.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 14 at 11:00 AM in the The Grant Chapel at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Davis Hooper officiating. Burial will follow at Sugarfork Baptist Church Cemetery.
