Maybur Henson Norton

Franklin, NC - Maybur Henson Norton, age 93, of Big Oak Drive, Franklin, NC, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2008 in a local nursing home. She was a native of Macon County, the daughter of the late Lonnie and Ora Norris Henson. She was married to Paschal Norton, who passed away in 1976. She was a retired school teacher, she had taught school for 36 years in the Macon County School System. She was a former Pink Lady at Angel Hospital, a member of the Macon County Chapter of Retired Teachers Association, and a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She attended First Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Rick Norton and his wife Anita and David Norton and his wife Suzy all of Franklin, NC; two sisters, Helen Grant of Asheville, NC and Roberta Palmer of Goose Creek, SC; two brothers, Ralph Henson and Gilmer Henson both of Otto, NC; two grandchildren, Darryn Norton and Laura Norton; three step-grandchildren, Blake, Evan and Justin Harrell. She was preceded in death by a brother, Calvin Henson.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 5th at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home, with Rev. Guy Duvall officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Darryn Norton,Blake Harrell, Evan Harrell, Justin Harrell, Scott Henson and Bud Henson.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm, Thursday evening at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity of one’s choice.
