Meritha Dowdle Purifoy
New Bern, NC - Meritha Dowdle Purifoy, 72, of New Bern, NC formerly of Franklin, NC passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Grantsbrook Nursing & Rehab Center. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Joel Dowdle and David Dowdle.
She is survived by her husband, David Lee Purifoy Jr.; sons, Charles Anthony "Tony" Dowdle of Franklin, NC and John Daniel Purifoy of New Bern; three daughters, Mary Purifoy Bryant of Ocracoke, Susan M. Purifoy and Kristin Lee Purifoy, both of New Bern; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 1st at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to V.F.W. National Home, 3573 S Waverly Rd., Eaton Rapids, MI 48827.
Bryant Grant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
