Mildred Eileen Mcguire

Franklin, NC - Mildred Eileen McGuire, age 90, a long term resident of Macon County, passed away Friday, October 18, 2013. She was born in Homestead, FL, the daughter of the late Lyle and Clara Whippo Field. She was married to the late Donald Charles McGuire. She was a cashier at Ingles and was of the Methodist faith. She was a US Navy Veteran serving during WWII and the Korean Conflict. She was a member of the American Legion Post #108.

She is survived by a daughter, Maureen McGuire of Mooresville, NC; five sons, Mark McGuire and his wife, Kathy of Asheville, NC, Michael McGuire and his wife Phyllis of Cornelius, NC, Tim McGuire and Ronnie McGuire and his wife Angie of Franklin, NC and Rodney McGuire and his wife Sandra of Mooresville, NC; a sister, Margaret Kirkwood. Nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by a son Dan McGuire.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 26 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Whittington officiating. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery where the Franklin VFW post #7339 and the American Legion post #108 will perform complete military graveside rites.

The family will receive friends Friday, October 25 from 6:00 8:00pm at Bryant Grant Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311
