Minnie "Gertrude" (Crawford) Browning

Mrs. Minnie "Gertrude" Crawford Browning, 88, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024. Mrs. Browning was born December 14, 1935, in Macon County, NC to the late Rev. David Lee Crawford and Moleta Clouse Crawford.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the American Legion VFW and Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Minnie loved to travel with her husband during his military career. She loved sewing quilts which have been passed down to her family. She was a faithful member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Andy of Franklin, NC; three sons, Gary Lee Browning (Phyllis), Terry Wayne Browning, and Barry Lynn Browning all of Franklin, NC; six grandchildren, Tera, Whitney, Amanda, Aaron, Casey, and Skyler; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Browning was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Arthur Grover Browning who passed away in 2021; and three brothers, Sam Crawford, Hudie Crawford, and Edward Crawford.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, April 8, 2024, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with the Rev. Guy Duvall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday April 7, 2024, from 2-4 PM at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Damon Crawford, Max Crawford, Quintin Crawford, Casey Browning, Bill Johnson, and Eddie Johnson.
