Morris Godwin Caye

Mr. Morris Godwin Caye, of Marietta, Ga passed away Monday, November 27, 2023. Morris was born in Augusta, Ga. December 28, 1957, to the late Charles G. Caye, Sr. and Dorothy Godwin Caye. He worked and retired as vice president from W.C. Caye & Company. Morris was a loving father, son, brother, and uncle. He was an avid football fan, golfer, loved going to the Casino, and playing billiards. Morris loved Highlands and he never met a stranger.

Survivors include his life partner, Beth Gutzweiler; two daughters, Lindsay Caye Gilliland, Adrienne Caye Chamberlin (Tray); three grandchildren, Vivienne Chamberlin, Langley Chamberlin, and Finn Gilliland; a sister, Melinda Caye Bernt; and a brother, Charles Giddings Caye, Jr.

A private funeral service was held Friday, December 1, 2023, in Highlands for family and friends. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Highlands Food Pantry, 348 South 5th St. Highlands, NC 28741.
