Myrtle Sanders (Mcconnell) Ledford

Mrs. Myrtle Deliah McConnell Sanders Ledford, 84, of Franklin, passed away February 12, 2019. Myrtle was born and raised in Macon County, NC to the late Dewey McConnell and Nina Bingham McConnell. Myrtle worked for Britthaven Nursing Home/ Macon Valley and Claude Welch Hotel.

Myrtle is survived by her son, Dewey Sanders (Jennifer) of Franklin; former daughter-in-law, Elaine Sanders; 8 grandkids, and 13 great- grandchildren.

Myrtle is preceded in death by her late husband, Lawrence Sanders; three daughters, Diane Samples, Margie Hill and Brenda Kelley; one son, Harold Sanders; two sisters, Nora Bell Carpenter, and Faye Barbee; three brothers, Wiley McConnell, Fred McConnell, and George Lyman McConnell; and one grandson.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Friday, February 15, 2019 in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Cannon, Rev. Tracy Tallent and Rev. Frank Rodriquez officiating. Burial will follow in the Black Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8pm Thursday evening, February 14, 2019 at the Bryant-Grant Funeral Home & Crematory.

Pallbearers will be Joey Kelley, Doug Crane, Dwight Samples, Dwayne Tallent, Jerry Carpenter, Jimmy Hall, Buster Tallent, Eddie Raby and Chad McConnell.

The family wishes to thank Care Partners Hospice and the staff at Macon Valley for the great care they gave Mrs. Ledford during her illness.
