Duluth, GA - Naomi Elliott Childers, age 78, of Duluth, GA, formerly of Franklin, NC, died peacefully on Friday, November 14, 2014 after a long period of declining health.
She was a native of Macon County, a daughter of the late Fred and Oma Hall Elliott. She was a 1954 graduate of Franklin High School; was a homemaker, and was a retired employee of Onieda Corporation in Atlanta, working both in bookkeeping and sales. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, and was loved by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Naomi was preceded in death by two sisters, Freda Elliott Stewart and Louise Elliott Downs.
Naomi is survived by: Her husband of 59 years, Carroll L. (Chuck) Childers of Duluth; a son, Steven Childers and wife Cindy of Atlanta; a daughter, Cindy Brooks of Townsend, TN; a grandson, Dr. Matthew Brooks and wife Dr. Elizabeth Brooks of Washington, DC; two brothers, Bruce Elliott and wife Maxine, and Harold Elliott and wife Brenda, all of Franklin; a sister, Ruby Elliott Bradford of Montgomery, AL; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Brandon Breedlove officiating.
