Franklin, NC - Ned Hardy Sanders, 63, of Franklin, NC passed away December 16, 2013. Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Jess and Ollie Mae Hastings Sanders. He was a veteran of the US Army and was a foreman for Davey Tree Service. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church; loved being with family, especially his grandchildren and liked to fish, go camping, and ride motorcycles.

Mr. Sanders is survived by his wife of 35 years, Laura Nulph Sanders; one daughter, Christine Mason of Olympia, WA; two sons, John Julian of Lapeer, MI and Jim Julian of Charlevoix, MI; one sister, Shirley Callahan of Darrington, WA; six grandchildren, Zach, Amanda, Johnny, Tony, Brandon and Creedence; three great-grandchildren, Kenyen, Kyler and Logan and several special friends and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Darkis Cook and Katherine Cochran and seven brothers, Doyle, Red, Jack, Muriel, Clint, and Dub Sanders and an infant brother, Warren Sanders.

Funeral services will be held, Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Stilwell, Rev. Danny Cannon and Rev. Brian Lamb officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Skip Sanders, Kip Cochran, John Wayne Sanders, Junior Mason, Neal Finch and Elicio Aguilar. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Mason and Danny Mason. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 - 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at the church.
