Nickey Lewis (Nick) Crawford

Franklin, NC - Nickey Lewis (Nick) Crawford, age 63, of Franklin, NC passed away Friday, November 30, 2012 at the Charles George VA Center in Asheville, NC. He was born in Macon County, NC, the son of the late Herbert L. and Marie Shope Crawford. Nick was a U S Marine Veteran serving in Viet Nam. He was the owner of Crawford Construction in Franklin. He was a member of the Tessentee Baptist Church. He loved woodworking, hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He was a loving father and grandfather.

He is survived by his better half, Michelle Ledford of Franklin; a daughter, Melissa Gillespie of High Point, NC; three sons, Matthew Crawford and wife Heather of Archdale NC, Luke Crawford and his wife Amy of Franklin, NC and Brock Crawford and his wife Sherry of Otto, NC; one step son, Nicholas Ledford of Franklin, NC; two sisters, Sandra Crawford Ledbetter of Topsail Beach, NC and Angel Crawford Christian of High Point, NC. Seven grandchildren also survive.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 4, at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Carpenter and Rev. Doug Carpenter officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 11:00 AM, one hour prior to the service, at Bryant Grant Funeral Home.

Burial and military graveside services will be held at the WNC Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Charles George VA Hospital, 1100 Tunnel Rd., Asheville, NC 28805.
