Nora Lee (Carpenter) Cassada

Nora Lee Carpenter Cassada, age 85, of Franklin, NC, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017.  She was born in Macon County, the daughter of the late Baxter and Ruth Sanders Carpenter.  She was a homemaker, she loved to read, and was a great seamstress and was a former member of NC Cooperative Extension.   She was a member of Watauga Baptist Church and the Church was her main focus in life.  She served as Secretary of the Church and was a member of the Choir and taught Sunday School and Bible School.  She was also an Association Messenger and was in charge of food and flowers for funerals,

She is survived by a daughter, Pamela Buchanan (Mike) and a son Rick Cassada (June) all of Franklin, NC; grandchildren, Amanda Peek (Mark) of Franklin, NC,  Allison Hicks (Scott) of Thomasville, NC, Zachary Dover of Franklin, NC, Ashley Arnold (Chad) of Gastonia, NC, Luke Cassada (Becky) of Franklin, NC, Megan Cassada of Franklin, NC and Chad Buchanan (Jennifer) of Clayton, GA; great‑grandchildren, Lexie Arnold, Tori Arnold, Carley Arnold, Rylee Cassada, Lilly Cassada, Blake Cassada, Mason Hicks, Asher Hicks, McKayla Buchanan and Hollis Myers; sister, Betty Markarian, brother, Lewis Carpenter (Edna), nephew, Ronnie Carpenter (Angie).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Cassada, brothers, Andrew Carpenter (Edna) and Doyle Carpenter (Ann), and infant sister, Juanita.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 14, 2017 at 11:00 am at Watauga Baptist Church with Rev. Wesley Price officiating.  Deacons, Trustees and friends of the  Watauga Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
