Nora Belle Mcconnell Carpenter

Franklin, NC - Nora Belle McConnell Carpenter, age 85, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2012 at a local nursing home. She was a lifelong resident of Macon County, the daughter of the late Dewey and Nina Bingham McConnell. She was a homemaker and a member of Coweeta Baptist Church where she was a former choir member, clerk, Sunday School teacher and a member of the WMU. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved singing, flowers and cooking. Nora was also a officer of the TOPS program.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Calvin Carpenter; her daughter, Jan C. Campbell and husband, Ronald of Otto, NC; her two sons, James Calvin Carpenter and his wife Margaret and Jerry Lester Carpenter and his fiancé Geraldine Ledford all of Otto, NC; one sister, Myrtle M. Sanders of Franklin, NC. Six grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 2 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Davis Hooper officiating. Burial will be held at Coweeta Baptist Church Cemetery. Cris Carpenter, Isaac Campbell, Andy Emory, Wesley Peek, Elbert McConnell, Hugh Scruggs, Lavern Wiggins and Chris Norton will serve as pallbearers..

The family will receive friends Friday, November 2 from 12:30 2:00PM at Bryant Grant Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Coweeta Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 780 Coweeta Church Road, Otto, NC 28763
