Ola Belle Bates

Ola Belle Bates 79, of High Shoals, NC, formerly of Franklin, NC, passed away January 2, 2021. She was born November 13, 1941 in Macon County, NC to the late Lee and Cordelia Williamson Bates.  Ola had worked as a waitress and was of the Baptist faith, she attended Church when she was able.

She is survived by her sister, Nettie Geraldine Bates Stephens (Samuel) of High Shoals, NC.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Lucille Bates Sanders and Mary Bates Teague and brothers, Eugene Bates, Wiley Bates, George (Bow) Bates, Charles Bates and Fred Bates.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Union United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Frank Rodriguez officiating.  Due to Covid-19, the family requests that masks be worn and social distancing be practiced.
