Opal Paralee (Keener) Brown

Mrs. Opal Paralee Keener Brown, 89, of Franklin, NC, passed away Monday, February 26, 2024. She was born November 2, 1934, in Macon County, NC to the late Lawton and Fannie Smith Keener.

Mrs. Brown was a homemaker and a member of Mashburn Branch Baptist Church. She loved flowers, gardening, was a wonderful cook, and she loved her family very much.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Brown and her brother, Arvil Keener.

She is survived by a son, Lamon Brown, a daughter, Donna Wilson; brother, Harley Keener; sisters, Wanda Rogers and Clara Lowe (Roy); grandchildren, Luke Brown, Chris Wilson, Laura Mason, and Lena Wilson; four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home, with Rev. Roy Lowe and Rev. Greg Rogers officiating.  Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery in the Goldmine Community in Highlands, NC. The family will receive friends from1:00 till 2:00 pm, prior to the service at the funeral home.  Pallbearers will be Luke Brown, Chris Wilson, Brian Lowe, Phillip Lowe, Edward Keener and Wayne Rogers.
