Paul "Nig" Claude Tallent

Franklin, NC - Paul "Nig" Claude Tallent, age 79, of Franklin, NC passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013 at an Asheville Hospital. He was a lifelong native of Macon County, the son of the late Joe and Ruth Guyer Tallent. He was a US Army Veteran and a member of Cullasaja Assembly of God Church. He owned and operated Tallent’s Steak Barn for 45 years. Nig was a loving husband, father and Papa T.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lillie Hedden Tallent; his son Joe Tallent and his wife Christina of Silver Spring, MD; two grandchildren, Abby Tallent and Maddy Tallent; two sisters, Gladys Bateman and Shiela Fouts of Franklin, NC; two brothers, Boyd Tallent of Franklin, NC and Lewis Tallent of Boise, Idaho. He was preceded in death by a brother, Marshall "Bull" Tallent.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 30 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Moffitt officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Steve Tallent, Gary Fouts, Doug Fouts, Randy Fouts, Mike Tallent and Wesley Keener will serve as pallbearers. Robert Shepherd, Bob Guy, David Gray, Gwen Stewman, Brooklynn Keener Hopper, Perrin Keener and Julie Dowdle will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 30 from 10:00-11:00 am, one hour prior to the service at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home.
