Paul Francis Scott

Paul Francis Scott, 90, of Franklin passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2016 in a local hospital.  Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Claude Owen and Ruth Downs Scott.  He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was a U. S. Navy veteran serving during WWII and Korea.  He was a Gunner’s Mate during his military service and was a small engine mechanic.

Mr. Scott is survived by his wife Patricia Cabe Scott; one daughter, Ruth Elizabeth Scott and her fiancée Louis DeCamp of Franklin; one son, Gary O. Scott and his wife Janet of Franklin; two sisters, Jennie Marsh and Evelyn Steed both of Greensboro, NC and four grandchildren, Matthew and Jessica Scott, and Sydney and Samantha Nolen. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Eugene Scott.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Kevin Chapman and Rev. Don Moffitt officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Franklin VFW Post #7339 and American Legion Post # 108 will conduct military graveside rites.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 ‑ 2:00 pm, prior to the service, at the church.
