Peggy Farabee Tate

Peggy Farabee Tate, 98, of Franklin, NC, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2026. She was born July 24, 1928 in Birmingham, AL to the late Fleatus Farabee and Velma Jenkins Farabee.

Mrs. Tate was a realtor, she was a great cook and she loved her garden especially her orchids. She loved the beach and enjoyed her house at Marco Island Beach, which she had for forty-five years.

She is survived by her husband, John Guyman; her sons, Steven Burrell Tate and James Scott Tate (Vicki); grandchildren, Nicole Tate, Cody Tate, Taylor Saunders, Brian Tate and Michelle Lawson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James C. Tate; a daughter, Susan Dean Sanders, who passed away September 21, 2022; and her son, Craig Farabee Tate.

A funeral service will be held at the Grant Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home October 3, 2026 at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Winter Park, Florida.
