Phyllis Morgan

Phyllis Morgan, 85, of Topton, NC, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2026. Phyllis was born October 1, 1940 in Hicksville, Ohio to the late Roger W. Baker and Lucille Gerry Baker. Phyllis was a member of Bethel Hill Baptist Church in Topton, NC. She worked for Macon Program for Progress for seven years; five years at Lee Plant and she also worked for Ivie Funeral Home in the Insurance Dept. Phyllis loved sewing, being a beautician and puzzles; she loved her family, and loved sitting watching the sunset through her window, she also loved her dogs, Pebbles and Scout.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Morgan, and a daughter, Sheryl Morgan Gregory.

She is survived by her son, Ken Morgan, (Jennifer); grandchildren, Shane Gregory (Erin), Tracy Fuller (Barry), Joey Morgan, Colton Morgan and Carter Morgan; great-grandchildren, Monika Newton (Colton), Tyler Fuller (Amelia) and Keshawn Morgan; great-great-grandchildren, Kash Newton, Kaisley Newton and one on the way.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 5, 2026 at 11:00am at Bethel Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Eugene Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 till 11:00 am prior to the service at the Church.

Pallbearers will be Alan Newton, Colton Newton, Barry Fuller, Shane Gregory, Chuck Grant and Junior Passmore.
